Rear derailleurs are designed to the same precise 9-speed specifications as Dura-Ace, and can also be used with 8-speed cassettes.
Long-Life Pulleys :
The use of larger 11-tooth pulleys results in alternating chain link contact to reduce abrasion and pulley wear. Ultegra derailleur uses a low-friction ceramic bushing in the guide pulley, and ball bearing in the tension pulley to increase pulley durability.
